How is it that my students can notice if I painted my toenails, but still don't know the difference between an adverb and an adjective?
Good question. Here's another: Why don't they listen to what I'm saying until I misspeak? Or even better, until I say "crap," and it's "Oooh, you said a bad word! Does that mean we can swear now?" Little pains in the rear end!
