I missed a month!

I don't even know the last time I checked in. I've been out of town for a few weeks now, and you know... I'm having a hard time keeping this updated, let alone checking in on everyone else's blog. What a lazy bum I've been.

However, 100 Farmers has tagged me (even though I'm two weeks late to the party), so it's easy for me to get back into the swing.

Eight Random Facts about Me:

1. Potatoes are my favorite food. What? Okay, probably it’s the cheese and butter and other artery clogging items put atop or in which they are fried, but still.

2. In the first presidential election in which I was old enough to vote, I walked to my former elementary school with my mother and father and voted for Reagan. My politics have changed since then.

3. I have many, many shades of eye shadow, lipstick and lip gloss, but rarely wear any of it.

4. Cathy Brown hit me full-on in the mouth and chipped my front tooth at sixth grade camp. Good times.

5. I don’t like anything but bodies, pajamas or books on my sheets. No food, and no street clothes.

6. My toes are ridiculously short.

7. I never chew gum (it hurts my jaw).

8. Sappy romances or romantic comedies are still my favorite kind of movies.

The rules are
1. Let others know who tagged you.
2. Players start with 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Those who are tagged should post these rules.
4. Players should tag 8 other people and notify them they have been tagged (since I'm so late to this, everyone I could think of to tag already had been. So, if you are reading this and would like to do it yourself, consider this a blanket tag to all readers).

You noted, "I walked to my former elementary school.....voted for Reagan. My politics have changed since then."

Your blog is hilarious! Just read a bunch of it. I added it to my favorites, by the way.

I'm not sure how all this blog stuff works or the tag thing, but I'm going with it because it is summer and I can.

So, eight random things about me:

1. Toe nails are gross. Even with a pedicure and polish, they still freak me out. Take a look at the toenails around you, there is nothing pretty about them and lets talk function. What do they do really? Of course toes without them is a whole other topic. YUK!

2. My family provides the greatest pleasure and yet the greatest pain. I'm thinking love is like that in general. If you really love someone the range of emotion is greatest because there is such a volnerability there. Putting yourself out there to totally feel the best part also requires the boundary walls to crumble. --just a random thought.

3. My Grandma was blind and one of my favorite memories is watching her eat jelly toast as she dunked it in her coffee.

4. Secertly, there are many things about my body that I like. It has taken 98 llbs and two surgeries to get to this point, but I'm liking it.

5. I hate my job. I know, join the rest of the world in that thought. I've already been told that. It is just that I think jobs shouldn't be just jobs, they should be an extention of who we are--Intrinsically speaking. I'm at a total loss of what to do to fix this. Teaching is not what is used to be, we no longer stay in the same district to happily collect the 35 year pat on the back as we head out the door to retirement. That is so not me. Problem: what to do to change it? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

6. I am addicted to bags: purses, backpacks, beach bags, suitcases. It is a sickness that is genetic and crosses genders. My toddler grandson shows signs of the same sickness. My oldest daughter has it also. Actually I'm okay with it.

7. Mornings rock. I don't even have to open my eyes to enjoy them. I love it when I first wake up, before I open my eyes and the day actually begins with the first thoughts that jump into my mind.

8. I eat pickles for breakfast.

If you are still reading this, congrats. I'm thinking about this tag thing and don't really what is next. So, I'm going to "tag" 8 others to share their info. Can't to read their stuff.

Just found your blog via Natalie's blog link - I hope you continue to blog here so I can check on my west coast counterpart! I just started b/c (probably like you when you started) there are SO many things I want to say about teaching, without my name and face attached to it. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
